Delightful detached stone (brick) Gate Lodge, built c 1850 and recently renovation, at the rear entrance to Rossmore Forest Park, now a National Park. It is situated about 3km (2 miles) from the county town of Monaghan, which has shops, fine restaurants, vibrant night life and a wealth of amenities including swimming pool and cinema. The park has a mausoleum, several bridges, a walled garden, wells, and an hydraulic dam and also has fishing lakes, picnic sites and walking and nature trails. It has many fine trees, shrubs and historic remains. The Lodge features a large enclosed garden with barbecue area and putting green at the rear. A front terrace was erected from large cut stones recovered on site from the demolished Rossmore Castle in 1972. It is equipped with seating and fire pit providing a spectacular setting for viewing night sky. The property is next door to Rossmore 18hole golf course. There is an equestrian centre at Castle Leslie a short drive away.

Inside: Sympathetically restored to retain character and charm. On the ground floor it supplies a kitchen/breakfast room with electric hob and oven, washing machine/tumble dryer and dishwasher an adjoining sitting/dining room with wood burning stove, dining table and chairs and bed settee. Microwave. Freezer. There is one bedroom with a king-size bed, a separate W.C. and shower which is wheelchair friendly. Upstairs provides one bedroom containing two singles/super king bed with an adjoining en suite bathroom and Jacuzzi bath; shower and W.C. There is central heating from the stove and backup oil fired central heating throughout. Linen and towels are provided, Free to air TV in each room and free wifi. DVD. CD/radio. Hairdryer. Some firewood and coal provided. Electric, oil and extra fuel are charged as used. Well supervised children welcome. Smoking is prohibited. No pets
