Property Description 

Doolin is a charming village set against the rugged Atlantic Ocean coastline and surrounded by the spectacular Burren limestone landscape. Long hailed as the traditional music capital of Ireland Doolins traditional pubs, relaxed atmosphere and beautiful setting make it the ideal location to relax and unwind, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Tir gan Ean holiday homes are located in the heart of Doolin, County Clare, on the grounds of the TOE gan Ean Hotel and close to all pubs and restaurants.

The famous Cliffs of Moher are a mere 10 minutes drive while a trip to the Aran Islands from Doolin Pier is a must. There is a beautiful blue flag beach at Fanore (15 minutes drive) and the rugged Burren landscape is a geological wonder waiting to be explored.

There are two house types:

Two Storey Homes
Each two storey house boasts bright, airy accommodation comprising of living room, separate kitchen/dining room, utility room and three bedrooms, two double rooms (one ensuite) and one twin room; and main bathroom.

Dormer Homes
There is a double bedroom and separate bathroom with bath and a full over bath shower at the ground level. Upstairs there are 2 dormer large bedrooms. One is a double and the other a twin room. There is another separate shared shower room at this level.

Doolin is on the West Coast of Clare where the Atlantic Ocean rolls in.

This location is ideal for families as a base to tour West Clare and the famous Burren region. There are regular ferry services to the Aran Islands and the nearby Cliffs of Moher from the village pier.

The houses are ideally located. The hotel bar is just 50 yards away, the village with pubs, shops etc is just 1.5 km and the sandy swimming beach at Fanore a short drive away (15km), while the closest shore is just 1km.

LOCAL ACTIVITIES

Dolphin Watching
The mouth of the River Shannon is home to IrelandTM only resident community of bottlenose dolphins numbering approximately 100 members. The estuary provides the dolphins wth a rich source of food and a safe habitat for mothers and calves and is one of only six such breeding communities in Europe. The local dolphin watch tours boast a sighting rate of 98% during the months of May to August and operate from the towns of Kilrush and Carrigaholt.

Golf
Doolin has its own excellent nine hole pitch n putt course and LahinchTM two golf Courses " the Old Course and the Castle Course are locted just a 20 minute drive away.

Walking
Doolin is centrally located on the Burren Way Walking Route which is a 26 mile (42 km) signposted walking trail from the town of Liscannor, along by the Cliffs of Moher, on to Doolin and into Ballyvaughan.

Caving
The Doolin Cave System was first discovered in 1953 and is over 10.5 km in length incorporating many active underground rivers flowing through the limestone. Guided trips can be arranged locally. Doolin Cave will open Saturday the 21st February and will be open every sat thereafter from 11am to 4pm.

Diving
This has become a very popular activity in Doolin and the area boasts some of the best diving on the West Coast of Ireland including a network of sub-marine caves off Doolin Point.

Horse Riding
The Buren is an ideal region to discover on horseback and there are many options available including beach trails.

Beaches
Within a ten minute drive of Doolin are two fabulous golden sandy beaches " the mile long Lahinch beach with its lovely promenade is perfect for a stroll and Fanore Blue Flag Beach has some fantastic sand dunes and is a favourite spot for shore fishing.

Traditional Music
Doolin has a reputation as a centre for traditional Irish music and attracts visitors from all over the world.

VISITOR ATTRACTIONS

The Cliffs of Moher
Just a five minute drive from Doolin Holiday Homes are the world renowned Cliffs of Moher. Defiantly standing as giant natural protection against the might of the great Atlantic Ocean the Cliffs rise to over 215 m (700ft) and stretch for over 8km.

Lahinch Seaworld and Leisure Centre
Seaworld offers a variety of facilities in two main sections namely the swimming complx and the Atlantic Aquarium. The swimming complex features a 25m deck level pool, kiddies pool, jacuzzi and sauna and the Aquarium features a fascinating array of marine specimens including a lobster breeding station and a blow-hole wave explosion.

The Burren
The northwestern corner of County Clare features The Burren - a rock garden of no ordinary proportions. The Burren extends over more than 100 square miles and most of it is bare, pale, grey limestone however it is interspersed with magnificent floral pockets and crevices with spectacular coastla borders. This truly is a unique place to visit while staying in Clare.

Aillwee Cave
Located 20 minutes drive from Doolin, Aillwee Cave is one of the west of IrelandTM top tourist attractions with its stalactites, stalagmites, relics of bears and Waterfall. Open daily from mid March " October.

Aran Islands
The Aran Islands are one of the last outposts of Gaelic civilisation. They are stunningly beautiful and feature ancient relics of prehistoric civilisations. Dalily boat trips operate from Doolin - which boasts the shortest ferry crossing - to all three of the Aran Islands.
